Founder of Atlanta public policy firm honored with National Association of Minority Contractors ‘Catalyst’ Award

Rodney Strong, the founder and CEO of one of the nation’s premiere disparity research and supplier diversity firms has been awarded by the primary trade organization serving minority contractors.

Strong was honored with the National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) Catalyst Award for his leadership and body of work in seeking equity and inclusion for diverse firms doing business across the country in both the public and private sectors.

Established in 1969, NAMC serves as the voice for minority contractors nationally, providing its members with advocacy, training, mentorship, and procurement and contracting opportunities. The “Catalyst Award” recognizes individuals who have challenged the status quo and have positively impacted minority businesses in the community. The honor was presented to Strong at the Hard Hat Awards Banquet, an annual celebration of the NAMC and its supporters.

“Your important work more than qualifies you for this recognition, as your efforts have moved the needle on diversity, equity and inclusion locally and nationally,” Hard Hat Banquet co-chairs Stephanie Jones and Arthur Queen said to Strong in their letter announcing his award.

Strong, a graduate of Morehouse College and the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, developed the nation’s most successful Minority and Woman Business Enterprise in Atlanta before forming GSPC with his wife and partner Delmarie Griffin.

“Twice during the years that I served as the director of office of contract compliance, the Atlanta chapter of NAMC honored the City of Atlanta as the best program and I was able to receive that award on behalf of the City,” he said. “I’m extremely gratified 30 years later to receive an individual award from the NAMC. I consider NAMC to be an extremely important organization and a catalyst for economic development in the African American community.”
